Mrs. Kelch

Dear Kingsway families and community members,

It is with great honor that I introduce myself as the new principal of Kingsway Elementary School. My name is Kristina Kelch. I am incredibly excited to join the Kingsway family and community. From what I’ve experienced so far, Kingsway is the best kept secret in Charlotte County. I am thankful to have involved community members, dedicated staff members and motivated students. I can already tell how much time and effort are invested in making sure students are growing in order to be socially, behaviorally and academically successful. I can assure you, I will be living and breathing the Kingsway motto alongside all of you- Proud to Lead. Proud to Lead is what attracted me to your school. It immediately touched my heart. I am honored that I was given this opportunity to proudly lead our school to greatness.

I come to you with 13 years of educational experience. I am humbled to share that all of my experience has been in Charlotte County. I formally lived in Englewood and attended Charlotte County schools for Elementary, Middle and High School. Previously I was a teacher, lead teacher and assistant principal. My passion has always been working with kids. At a young age, I knew making a difference was my calling. I was lucky enough to gain insight on the job profession by volunteering with my mother. Looking back, those experiences shaped and guided me to fulfill my dream of working in education and with children. I graduated high school with many credits from State College of Florida which helped shorten my time at Florida Gulf Coast University. There I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I furthered my career at American College of Education where I received my Masters in Educational Leadership. Three and half years ago, I achieved a job as an assistant principal. The experiences as an assistant principal helped prepare me for the role as principal of Kingsway.

I currently live in North Port with my husband and ten-year-old son. We are a very active family. If we are not at the baseball fields we are on the boat fishing. We enjoy spending time as a family and making new memories.

Together, we will work towards our vision-student success. You play a vital role in your child’s success. As a team, we will work together to ensure your child/ren reach their true potential. I firmly believe the key to student achievement is driven by effective communication and collaboration. I plan to involve families and community members with pertinent information frequently.

We will strive for excellence each and every day. We will continue to strengthen our educational practices to ensure all students are successful. In doing so, we will evaluate where we are, where we need to go and the action steps needed to achieve those goals. We will do this as a team. There will be hurdles, struggles, and challenges that we will face and overcome together, but in the end, the successes that we will endure will outweigh them all. I am looking forward to leading and learning together as a community.

We are experiencing a time in our life that is different than the normal. During this pandemic, we have learned many valuable lessons, the ability to be flexible and the need to lean on one another. I commend you for persevering during this difficult time. You are doing an amazing job supporting your child during e-learning. I know it is not possible to meet you and your child in person but I plan on setting up virtual lunches. Further information will be shared over email and social media. I value how family-oriented Kingsway is. When we return to school there will be a plan in place to meet all of you. I believe speaking with all of you will provide me the best insight as to why Kingsway is so special.

Once again, I am very thankful for this remarkable opportunity. This journey together is only the beginning. I am devoted to you, our students and community members. I look forward to getting to know each of you. I am here if you need anything. Do not hesitate to reach out to me by email.

Yours truly,
Kristina Kelch
