Kingsway’s media center has an extensive collection of picture books, an abundance of chapter books, an array of different genres, and our shelves are packed full of nonfiction books. The students have the opportunity to visit our school library with their class each week. During this class period, students hear read alouds and engage in a variety of activities. They also self-select books for their own reading pleasure. It is my hope that our students enjoy and look forward to their special library times.
My Mission:
My goal, as Kingsway's media specialist, is to instill a love of reading, inspire life-long learning, and foster independent library use. I strive to make the library an inviting space where students may acquire knowledge and gain insight; a welcoming haven for both our students and staff, a place where students learn how to be digital safe citizens, a setting that encourages curiosity, and overall a center that helps students find pleasure and knowledge in literature.
